What
happened today:
- 40m: USA Beam resonance
problem solved - it was only wrong measurement...
- Lower 20m EU Beam VSWR
improved to 1:1.4 by swinging it slightly North. (You must
know that there were steel guy wires going through the
antenna plane. Last year the guying wires were grounded and
had a very bad influence on the antenna performance. This
year we had steel guying wires broken up with insulators
every 8 meters (according to the ARRL antenna handbook).
Much better !!! Swinging the antenna north meant changing
the distance from a certain antenna element to a guying wire...)
- 15m: Top Yagi resonance
frequency increased by adding tuning stub.
- 10m: all antennas working now,
was only a cable problem.
- 2-el Delta Loop for 80 towards
USA (30 meters high) works like hell. :-)

Left: Erecting the 160m L antenna. Looks like five people
are fishing. No, the antenna is not broken. This is just normal,
when you put up a TITANEX vertical. It stands upright on the
bottom, and you still have the top section in your hands...
Right: DJ9KV making cables for the WX0B StackMaster.

S50S cleaning the 30m high Mobile Tower (serves as a fix point
for the 2-el Delta Loop for 80m). The tower was stuck due to
standing in CN8 sunshine for almost one year with no movement.

Beverage Expeditions to the desert (only green, because it was
raining for days now...).
Left: DL2MEH and DH1SGS pulling feedline cable from the
USA Beverage antenna down to the shack. Right: DL6RAI and
DH1SGS pulling even more cable downhill. A total of 1200 meters
of coax feedline was laid out today...
Open Problems and Plan for
October 26:
- 40m: StackMatch needs to be
installed.
- All stations must be set up by
the evening. Burn-in test scheduled for 18-20 UTC.
- Central Beverage Box for
160/80/40 will go into service at noon.
- Computers still crashing...
Changing hardware...
