Worked All Europe DX Contest 1999 SSB
New All-Time Multi/Single World Record
Operators: SM3SGP, DL8WPX, DL6FBL.

DL8WPX and I came here for the contest, only because we wanted to test this place for our planned Multi/Multi show for the CQ Worldwide DX Contests in October and November 1999. We simply put a LogPeriodic on the rooftop and hang some wires "down the house". We used an Icom IC-775DSP and an Ameritron AL-1500. No multiplier station, only this one running station. During the contest, Gunnar (SM3SGP/SK3GW/CE3F), showed up at the hotel. He was in Morocco for business and joined our little team for having some fun in the contest. While he was on the radio, DL8WPX and I could walk outside, making some photos and drawings of the scenery for our further planning. The other days we used for the final negotiations with the hotel director, local authorities [Gendarmerie, Caidat], and our local contractors [tower construction company, container supplier and Internet Provider]. Besides we had some fun being together with some of the local Radio Amateurs and the representative of the A.R.R.A.M. (Association Royale des Radio Amateurs du Maroc), without their generous help we would not have been able to make our activities come true. THANK YOU AGAIN, FRIENDS !
